I write from my heart…
Happy Earth Day Weekend, all you glorious balls of sparkle! This post will be on the shorter side, as I am preparing for Earth Day festivities which are to occur at Elmwood Park tomorrow. I feel compelled to write only this:
Here’s my TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT ADVICE FOR HOOPERS #4: allow yourself to sprout, grow and connect in THE community: locally, nationally, worldwide. I discovered in my more recent years that having a healthy, positive support system can make all the difference in the world in terms of setting and reaching goals, whatever they may be. I find this to be true especially when we’re trudging down new and unknown paths, unsure, afraid and isolated. For more examples, please refer to any episode of Fraggle Rock, and you’ll understand what I mean about the significance of community and fellowship.
I have been blessed with the most amazing opportunity! Thanks to the human Unicorns, Maria Farmer and Shanda Meeks, aka RS Fit Squad, I will be teaching my very first workshop! If you’re in Omaha, NE Memorial Day weekend and feel an itch to get down like James Brown with a hoop, please, I would LOVE to share the experience with YOU! Please contact me (here or contact information printed on the flyer) with any questions, comments and/or concerns. By the way, Mari Dailey designed the Logo for this flyer. She exudes nothing but compassion, bravery and wonderment AND it certainly shows in her illustrations, ceramics and wood block prints. I STRONGLY encourage you to examine her work on Instagram @mdaileystudios.
Last, but not really: Jasmine’s Hoop Dance Song Suggestion for the Day: “Desperate But Not Serious,” performed by Adam Ant. It’s scandalous….but not serious!
Namaste. xoxo 🙂
